Residents in the area surrounding the proposed Crematorium development in Faulconbridge celebrated on Sunday 22nd May with a picnic in
A number of people commented on how great it had been to get to know their neighbours and all agreed to stay connected and continue to be involved in community issues. Those present also reflected on the various elements of the campaign and enjoyed the display of photos and newspaper clippings - and the specially decorated celebration cake!
It's the wrong location for this type of development - it's on the busy highway; it's across the road from a protected bushland zone; the smoke stack is less than 40m away from homes and it's in a Village-Neighbourhood Zone.

As a loosely affiliated group of residents against the Funeral Home & Crematorium development proposed for GWH Faulconbridge, we do not condone harassment, badgering or aggressive behaviour of any kind. However we cannot control the actions of everyone concerned about this development.
Anyone who claims to be speaking on behalf of, or representing, this group of residents and who does so in a rude or aggressive manner does not reflect the values of the group.
The "group" came about when a few concerned members of the community got together to discuss the proposal. From this a series of meetings were held and a smaller strategy group developed.
The aim has been to make sure that people know about the development proposal, to research the issues and to share information with the wider community.
In our meetings we have shared these ideas, information and research about the development and encouraged people to write submissions and letters pointing out how they feel about the development and to present factual information based on the research. At all public and strategy group meetings we have said opposition should be respectful. We also provide a checklist which advises people they should not over-use capital letters in correspondence because it could be construed as shouting; to not denigrate anyone personally, and to use positive language.
If you are approached in a manner you would deem inappropriate or wish to confirm any information provided we would ask that you contact nocrematorium@y7mail.com
We maintain a blog which contains information provided by members of the community and reflects our commitment to sharing facts about the development in a reasoned and constructive way.
